A Tune-up is passe.  Should have been passe a long time ago.  The pricing for all of the different vehicles with the different compiled milage services was monstrously difficult.  The solution was  a-la-carte to tailor each and every car, spreading individual tasks on a semi-annual day-planner schedule.  The Holistic (sic) way is for each consumable be replaced by a time interval and vehicle condition inspection. One example: spark plugs last so long that the recommended intervals are milage/time because they can become stuck, not worn out.  Fluids in particular have life spans, and when exceeded begin to cause harm.  The components are designed for use with "fresh" fluids. A fluid is a component of the car, with a part number even.   An engine would never wear out if it ever saw only new oil. How often is often enough without being too often?  Often is cheaper, for long ownership.  Did you know that oil engine oil causes oil leaks?
